Black Bean & Sweet Potato
Kicked-Up Chili Macaroni
With canned beans and flavourful sweet potatoes, this budget-friendly chili is one that the whole family will savour.

can (540 mL) black beans, drained and rinsed
pkg Hamburger HelperTM Chili Macaroni
tbsp (30 mL) vegetable oil
medium sweet potato (about 3/4 lb/375 g), peeled and diced (1/2-inch/1 cm pieces)
cups (875 mL) hot water
cup (50 mL) barbecue sauce
Heat oil in large skillet set over medium heat; cook black beans and sweet potatoes for about 5 minutes or until sweet potatoes start to soften.
Stir in hot water, barbecue sauce and sauce mix and pasta (from Hamburger HelperTM pkg); bring to boil, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes or until pasta is tender.
Divide among bowls; sprinkle with green onions.
